Who we are
Matu Community of Queensland is a grassroots, community-led charitable organisation committed to providing benevolent relief to individuals, children, young people, and families experiencing social isolation, hardship, exclusion, and related forms of disadvantage. We work alongside local communities and people from refugee, migrant, and culturally diverse backgrounds, delivering practical assistance, culturally responsive support, education support, youth wellbeing initiatives, safe community programs, and referral pathways. Our work helps relieve immediate need, reduce barriers to participation, strengthen social connection and belonging, and improve access to essential services, community support, and opportunities for long-term wellbeing and inclusion.
Our activities are guided by a commitment to early intervention, inclusive community support, and the relief of disadvantage. Through direct assistance and community-based support, we help vulnerable people and families build resilience, improve well-being, and move toward greater stability, inclusion, and long-term positive outcomes.
Our Mission
To advance social and public wellbeing by providing benevolent relief and supportive services to individuals, children, young people, and families experiencing hardship, disadvantage, settlement barriers, or social exclusion, including through education support, youth development, family strengthening, practical assistance, and referral pathways.
Our Vision
