President

Lawm Cangmah is a dedicated community leader with extensive professional experience in community engagement and development. He has worked closely and extensively with diverse communities across Queensland, leading community consultations, community capacity building, building strong partnerships with Government, Service Providers, Stakeholders, and delivering initiatives that support youth development, family wellbeing, and social cohesion.

He is a strong advocate for grassroots communities, committed to amplifying community voices, addressing local needs, and fostering community-led solutions. Lawm is passionate about empowering young people, strengthening families, and driving practical, collaborative approaches that create lasting and meaningful impact.

Muan Hlui

General Secretary

Muan Hlui is an experienced professional in the primary health sector as a Program Development Coordinator, with a strong background in program development, coordination, and implementation. She brings well-developed organisational, project coordination, and administrative expertise, supporting effective governance, clear communication, and the efficient delivery of community-focused initiatives.

With extensive professional experience in primary health, Muan has a deep understanding of family health and wellbeing from a grassroots perspective. She has been actively involved in initiating and supporting community-based programs, with a particular focus on women’s health and wellbeing, ensuring that initiatives are practical, accessible, and responsive to community needs.

Muan also has strong experience in advocacy, as well as engaging with government and key stakeholders to promote community priorities and improve access to services. She brings valuable knowledge of service referral pathways, enabling her to effectively connect individuals and families with appropriate supports and services. Through her work, she has contributed to building collaborative partnerships that strengthen service delivery and improve community outcomes.

In her role as General Secretary, she plays a key part in maintaining organisational records, facilitating communication, and supporting the implementation of community initiatives.

Biak Laithang

Treasurer

Biak Laithang is an experienced professional with a strong background in the aged care sector, where she has held managerial roles for many years. She brings a wealth of leadership, organizational, and financial management expertise to her role, ensuring the effective stewardship of the organisation’s resources.

Biak has extensive experience serving in multiple leadership and committee positions within the community across previous terms. Through these roles, she has developed strong capabilities in governance, project oversight, and strategic planning, contributing to the growth and sustainability of our Organization’s initiatives.

In her capacity as Treasurer, she is highly skilled in managing project budgets, financial reporting, and budget allocations, ensuring transparency, accountability, and alignment with organizational priorities. Her attention to detail and commitment to sound financial practices play a key role in supporting the delivery of impactful community programs.
